Anthony's just finished skimming the lounge. He prepared it all thoroughly and was so conscientious throughout. He arrived punctual in the mornings and never stopped until it was finished. He's done a brilliant job the room looks immaculate. He left it so clean and tidy afterwards. We would recommend him to anyone.

Anthony rendered the gable wall and single storey kitchen of my house. He did an excellent job of the work. Anthony fully explained the process and where he was up to as it progressed. He made sure that surrounding area and walls were protected from any debris or render during the process and did an excellent job of cleaning up both as it progressed and at the end. Anthony was also a pleasure to deal with as a tradesman. In addition his price was really competitive compared to other renderers who quoted. Judge the work, not just the words
Reviews are worth reading, but they are the easiest thing on any trade website to fake. So the most honest thing on this site is the photographs — every one of them is a job we have done, including the strip-backs, the basecoat stages and the messy middle of a job that nobody normally photographs.
If a plastering or rendering website shows you nothing but finished walls in perfect sunshine, ask to see the preparation. That is where the money goes and that is what decides whether the finish is still good in five years.
How to check out a plasterer before you book

Get it in writing
A written estimate that names the preparation, the system and the scaffold. A number scribbled on a scrap of paper tells you nothing about what is included, and it is where most disputes start.
Ask what goes on the wall
For rendering, ask which system and whether mesh and primer are included. Anyone who cannot answer that clearly is not the person you want on your walls.
Check the insurance
Ask to see public liability cover. Scaffolding, hacking off render and working above a neighbour's property all carry real risk, and cover is not optional.
Ask to see similar work
Not just any work — work on a house like yours. A crew who are excellent on modern cavity walls may not be the right choice for a solid-wall Victorian villa near the front.
Talk about the weather
Any renderer who promises a fixed top-coat date in November regardless of the forecast is telling you what you want to hear. The honest answer is that external work moves with the weather.
Ask about the clear-up
Hacking off render creates a startling amount of debris. Find out who is removing it, where the skip is going and whether it is priced in before you agree to anything.
